As one of the founding members of the legendary rock band The Pretenders, Chrissie Hynde has been blowing audiences away with her unmistakable voice and guitar skills for nearly 50 years — and as a video from one recent performance proved, the 73-year-old singer-songwriter still sounds just as amazing as ever.
In a clip shared to TikTok this week, Hynde led her bandmates in a live performance of their mega-popular ballad "I'll Stand by You" while wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, and black boots, looking every inch the rock goddess.

"I swear, Chrissie Hynde can do no wrong," one person gushed, with a second agreeing, "Zero. She can do zero wrong."
"She still sounds amazing," someone else pointed out, as another admitted, "I don't know if I've ever heard anybody that sounds that good live."
"No lip syncing here. Aging with grace. Keeping it real. Love her," gushed yet another fan.
In a 2023 interview with The Guardian, Hynde shared her thoughts on aging, revealing that she's "more relaxed" now than she was during the earlier years of her career.
"I don’t mind getting older. I do mind getting uglier," she said, adding, "Come on, there’s only one thing we know of that is definitely going to happen to us. That’s all the information we have in this life. You know, a lot of my friends didn’t get old."
"I’m not a worrier, by nature — and there are so many great things about getting older," Hynde continued. "For example, I don’t think there’s very many things that I know now that I didn’t know when I was 16 — but there’s a big difference between knowing something and realizing it. Realizing something takes 50 years. I’m more relaxed now, if you can believe it. This is the real mellow version of me. Aging is like being a pothead again. Though that’s not to say there are not things that wind me up daily."
