No love lost for the commissioner.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver was greeted at the 2025 NBA Draft by a loud array of boos as he walked out on stage to kickoff the event.
When he circled back to announce Cooper Flagg to the Dallas Mavericks moments later, he was once again met with a loud chorus of boos.
The draft is taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
And the crowd inside the building doesn’t exactly seem to be the biggest Silver fans.
This isn’t the first year Silver has heard the boos, as it seems to be a tradition that started a long time ago.
The late David Stern, who was the previous commissioner before Silver, was booed routinely.
He would even joke with the crowd at times to amp it up.
It just seems to be part of the job as commissioner of a professional sports league.
Just ask Roger Goodell.
The NFL commissioner has dealt with the negativity and boos for years and years.
Silver has done a fine job as commissioner but has definitely come under fire over the last few seasons due to various decisions, or lack thereof.
