When Younger premiered on TV Land a decade ago, fans were immediately hooked on the premise of a 40-year-old single mom lying about her age and pretending to be 26 to re-enter the workforce.
The series, which wrapped up its run in 2021, saw a huge resurgance after making its way to streaming giant Netflix, where a much wider audience fell in love with Sutton Foster's Liza, along with her love interests Charles (Peter Hermann) and Josh (Nico Tortorella), her work-friend-turned-best-friend Kelsey Peters (Hilary Duff) and her fiercely confident and intimidating boss, Diana Trout (Miriam Shor).
And the sentiment shared by fans, new and old, is that there was more story to be told beyond the seven seasons.
So, would creator DarrenStar be open to a revival? Surprisingly, yes!
In a recent chat with Deadline, the man behind hit shows like Sex and the City and Emily in Paris confirmed, “I would do some sort of revival,” adding, “It’s something I would be very excited to pursue, and just in these conversations I’ve had with the cast, it’s something they would be excited to do if the timing was right for everyone.”
In addition to an intriguing and refreshing premise, the single-camera series also had well-developed characters, with Star complimenting the cast for having "the most amazing chemistry with each other."
"It was a real, delightful experience for all of us to make that show together," he continued of the positive relationships formed.

Not to mention that the "open-ended" finale made for the perfect way in for a potential revival, as Star noted of the final scene, "It wasn’t a definitive choice, but there is definitely a full circle feeling to it."
He even has ideas for a follow-up storyline for a potential season 8, confidently stating, "I do think that there’s a lot of story; there’s a new chapter for those characters."
While the series had an extremely loyal fanbase, he noted it was "restricted," yet he always envisioned the show would be perfect for streaming, noting that every episode ended on a cliffhanger and felt "very streamable and bingeable."
Despite being available on Hulu and Paramount+ in the past, Younger never found the same success as it did on Netflix, with Star revealing he was stunned when it became one of the top 10 comedy slots from January through May.
“It does speak to the power of Netflix and the algorithm," he explained.
All seven seasons of Younger are available to stream on Netflix.
