The four-time league MVP’s swan song is upon us.
Aaron Rodgers announced on The Pat McAfee show that the 2025 NFL season in all likelihood will be his last.
“I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said.
“That’s why we just did a one-year deal. The Steelers didn’t need to put any extra years on that or anything.
“This was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I’ve had. I’ve played 20 freaking years. It’s been a long run and I’ve enjoyed it.
“What better place to finish than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL, with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership and guys and a city that expects you to win.”
Rodgers was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2005, where he played for 18 seasons.
He then played two years for the New York Jets, before signing a one-year deal with the Steelers.
The deal was good for a base value of $13.65 million, including a $10 million signing bonus.
There are a handful of incentives that can push the contract to $19.5 million.
The 41-year-old quarterback is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer and has nothing left to prove.
And now he’s made it clear, that this season will be his last.
