Diamondbacks color analyst Luis Gonzalez made a comment that Arizona must lead the league in elbow and hand injuries, as this has been a brutal stretch for injury news over the past three-plus weeks.

Star outfielder Corbin Carroll was hit in the hand by a pitch on Wednesday, stayed in the game to run, was replaced on defense and has not played since. He underwent imaging on Monday, and manager Torey Lovullo told reporters in Chicago that his concern level had increased.

Suarez had just won the National League Player of the Week hours before first pitch on Monday, as he has been one of the hottest hitters in the league of late. He is batting .345 with nine home runs in his last 14 games.

This season, Suarez has an .890 OPS with 25 home runs and 67 RBIs. He has played in all 78 of the team’s games, starting 76 of them.
