They're about to be Back in Black... in Australia! Legendary hard rock band AC/DC hasn't performed in their home country since December 2015, but on Sunday, June 22, 2025, they took to Instagram to reveal that they'd be back for a limited run of shows for the first time in nearly a decade.
"ARE YOU READY AUSTRALIA?" the band, fronted by iconic guitarist Angus Young and vocalist Brian Johnson, captioned a new poster for their PWR UP tour. The update includes five dates in Australia: Melbourne on November 12, Sydney on November 21, Adelaide on November 30, Perth on December 4, and Brisbane on December 14.
All of the shows are set to feature opening band Amyl and the Sniffers, another Australian rock group who started gaining international notoriety after playing at Coachella in 2025 and performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May. Tickets for the shows go on sale Thursday, June 26.

The homecoming is sure to be emotional for the legendary band. In 2017, the group lost their rhythm guitarist and Angus' brother, Malcolm Young to lung cancer and his older brother, their longtime producer George Young, also passed. On top of that, the iconic childhood Young home where AC/DC was born was mistakenly torn down by developers, according to CNN.
The PWR UP tour kicked off in Europe in 2024 and made its way to North America in April 2025. Tickets have been hard to get, with the European leg selling more than 2 million tickets in their first day of sale. Fans are hoping more shows will be added to the Australian lineup to fill the large gaps between stops.
