Carlos Alcaraz hopes to repay the favour to Emma Raducanu as the Brit watched his semi-final victory at Queen’s.
The five-time Grand Slam winner thrashed Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4 6-4 to book his place in the final.
The 2023 Queen’s Club champion, and two-time Wimbledon winner, will face Jiri Lehecka on Sunday, who knocked out Britain’s Jack Draper.
Raducanu was seen watching on from the stands at Queen’s Club as she prepares to play in Eastbourne for her final Wimbledon preparation.
The two have been hitting headlines over the last week after it was announced they would team up for mixed doubles at the US Open later this year.
Alcaraz was asked about whether he got to speak to Raducanu after the match.
The 22-year-old said: “No, I couldn’t. I saw on social media she came up to watch my match. I’m just glad.
“I was focused on the match and I didn’t see her.
“I’m just glad that she came to support, to watch my match. Yeah, I think it was great having her in the stands.”
When asked if he would try and get to watch some of her matches next week or at Wimbledon, Alcaraz said: “Well, it depends on the schedule, obviously.
“I have practices, I have matches. I would love to, if I have the time. If I’m at the club or I don’t have anything else to do, yeah, I would love to come and watch her.
“I’m watching her matches from the TV every time that I can. So watching her in real [life] could be fun.”
Alcaraz is looking to become the two-time Queen’s championGettyIt was Alcaraz who made the special request for Raducanu to be his playing partner at the US Open mixed doubles.
“I was thinking that I couldn’t play better if it wasn’t with Emma,” Alcaraz said earlier this week.
“I just asked Emma if she wants to play doubles with me – I made that special request.”
However, he joked that ‘she took a while’ to respond to his request to become partners, which is already being named ‘Alcaranu’ by fans.
She’s going to be the boss,” he said. “I’ve known Emma for a really long time and I have a really good relationship with her. We will try to win. But obviously it’s going to be really, really fun.”
But first he has the Queen’s final to deal with before going on to try to defend his Wimbledon crown.
Alcaraz made a special request to be Raducanu’s doubles partnerGettyHe is the two-time defending champion at the All England Club and is fresh off winning the French Open in a gruelling final against Jannik Sinner.
Alcaraz ominously declared after his latest win: “Grass mode is activated.”
He added: “I said at the beginning of the tournament I was trying to feel more comfortable every day.
“I feel I’m playing great tennis, more comfortable after every match and making the final here in Queen’s is so special.”
