Evans is helping to protect Medicaid
Medicaid is supposed to be a safety net for the most vulnerable in our country. Seniors, low-income families, children and people with disabilities all rely on the program for the critical care they need. That being said, it is frustrating to hear that illegal immigrants are receiving benefits from a taxpayer-funded program that was never meant for them.
With costs going up across the board, many Americans are already struggling to get the care they need. It doesn’t seem right that our tax dollars are being used to cover people who aren’t in the country legally, while hardworking families are left waiting or paying out of pocket.
Thank you to Congressman Gabe Evans for taking steps to protect Medicaid and make sure it serves the people it was designed to help. This isn’t about politics; it’s about fairness and making sure the limited resources that go into Medicaid go to those who need them most. Medicaid should serve citizens and legal residents who qualify, and nothing more.

Unfair to tax tips
Hourly workers who earn tips are some of the hardest-working people in our communities. Whether it’s waiting tables, cutting hair, or driving deliveries, these jobs are often physically demanding and require long, unpredictable hours.
The fact that tips are taxed just like regular income feels unfair. These workers are already hustling to earn every extra dollar. They shouldn’t have to hand part of it back just for going the extra mile.
Thank you to Congressman Gabe Evans for supporting efforts to stop taxing tips. It’s a simple way to respect hard work and make life a little easier for Colorado’s hard workers who are doing some of the toughest jobs out there.
