KIERAN Trippier and wife Charlotte are getting a divorce, pals told The Sun.
The England star, 34, confirmed this week they had been separated for over a year.
He and Charlotte, 36, married in 2016 and have three children.
A source said: “Charlotte has been open with her friends about getting a divorce. She has been seeking legal advice and is keen to move on with her life.
“Kieran is a devoted dad but as a partner it hasn’t worked out as Charlotte had hoped.
“She has moved house and started anew, so getting a divorce has been the next logical step. Charlotte wants to keep things as amicable as possible with Kieran.”
Newcastle United defender Trippier had said on Wednesday: “Myself and Charlotte separated over a year ago. I have not commented previously as it is a private matter and we want to protect our children.”
Yesterday, his spokesman said he did “not comment on speculation on people’s private lives”.
Trippier proposed to Charlotte in Cyprus in 2015 before they wed the following June.
Last year, he was seen wrapping his arms around call centre worker Frankie Carmichael, 27, in Newcastle bar Cosy Joes.
In May, he was spotted with a mystery blonde in the city — with an onlooker sending a video of them to Charlotte.
Last month, he was seen with Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry in Ibiza.
