THE Pittsburgh Steelers have made another move to their roster ahead of the 2025 season.
The team has already been involved in plenty of changes this year.
And another one was announced this week by the NFL team.
Running back Jonathan Ward was let go, the Steelers announced on X on Thursday.
The 27-year-old was a free agent out of Central Michigan in 2020.
He signed with the Arizona Cardinals, where he played until 2022.
Ward played sparingly and had to wait until Week 17 in 2020 for his first career reception.
That game also saw him record the only NFL touchdown of his career.
Ward was on the New York Jets practice squad briefly in 2022.
He also played for the Tennessee Titans, where he bounced between the active roster and practice squad.
Ward was picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers this time last year.
He spent the season between the practice squad and active roster.
And the Steelers have officially parted ways with the running back this week.
Ward has had 22 rushing attempts for 91 yards in his career.
He also has six catches for 52 receiving yards and a touchdown.
For the Steelers, he played four games in 2024 and rushed five times for 22 yards.
Pittsburgh’s leading running back on the depth chart is Jaylen Warren.
They also have Kaleb Johnson, Kenneth Gainwell and Trey Sermon on the roster.
But it’s in other positions on the offense where their bigger moves have come this offseason.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers finally committed to playing for the Steelers after months of speculation.
He signed a one-year deal worth $13.6 million earlier this month.
They also traded for wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks.
