FORMER NFL running back Adrian Peterson was involved in a bloody fight at a poker game.
Peterson, 40, had a violent brawl with a friend during the tournament in Houston, Texas.
TMZ obtained video footage of the fight where multiple punches were thrown.
The incident took place at the JokerStars club on May 27.
Alcohol was involved but Peterson told TMZ that wasn’t the reason for the fight.
The ex-running back was playing cards with a friend and then “one thing led to another.”
Bloody wounds were seen, according to TMZ, but Peterson said that was from falling off a chair.
“Me and the guy, we’re cool,” Peterson told the outlet.
“We’ve known each other.
“It was literally like a brother situation.
“We agreed to disagree, we had our words, and we threw blows – and that was it.”
Police were not called and are not investigating the incident, TMZ added.
Peterson said, “I felt really bad. It’s a situation where I kind of regret it.”
The 40-year-old was a first-round NFL Draft pick in 2007 by the Minnesota Vikings.
He spent the majority of his career in Minnesota, where he won the MVP award in 2012.
Peterson then bounced around teams from 2017 before retiring after the 2021 season.
His teams included the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks.
The running back was a three-time rushing yards leader and two-time rushing touchdowns leader.
He was named to seven Pro Bowls during his stellar career.
Peterson pled no contest in 2014 to a misdemeanor charge of assaulting his son.
In 2022, he was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for a domestic violence incident on a plane.
Earlier this year, the 40-year-old was arrested for fourth-degree DWI.
