According to a release from the UFL, the Denver Broncos have signed Mario Goodrich, a cornerback formerly of the UFL and Philadelphia Eagles.
The Broncos have notably revamped both their defense and offense this offseason, signing multiple starters on either side of the ball.
Goodrich looks to add depth to Denver’s already incredibly extensive list of talented cornerbacks.

Goodrich was most recently in the United Football League’s Birmingham Stallions and has now moved back up to the NFL.
Last year, Goodrich played in six games with the Stallions, totaling 19 tackles, one tackle for a loss, and three forced fumbles.
Goodrich was originally signed to the Eagles’ practice squad in 2022, and finally made it onto the gameday roster in 2023. He played in four games, including one start that year. Goodrich had five tackles in those games, and allowed all 10 targets to be completed.
Still, Chris Franklin of NJ.com told me he likes his game. Specifically, that Goodrich could play in both Cover 3 and man, and that he has good anticipation skills.
The Broncos already had arguably the best cornerback group in the NFL before signing Goodrich.
Patrick Surtain is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, and despite Riley Moss playing well opposite of him in 2024, Denver took Jahdae Barron in the first round of April’s NFL Draft.
They also added Talanoa Hufanga, the hybrid-type safety to the back end, as well as his teammate Dre Greenlaw to the middle of the dominant defense.
After being a top-5 unit in sacks (1st, 63.0), scoring (3rd, 18.3 PPG), and red zone scoring percentage (3rd, 46.9%), Denver seems certain to be among the best defense’s again in 2025.
Goodrich is the second player in as many years to be signed from the UFL by the Broncos. Dondrea Tillman was the first last year, and he racked up five sacks in Denver.
The Broncos just ended their offseason training program last week and announced their Training Camp will open on July 22.
