SAN JOSE – Crews on Tuesday afternoon were battling a tier 3 brush fire in East San Jose, fire officials said.

Cal Fire air support is en route.
Fire officials are asking people to avoid the area.
Time-lapse footage posted by the fire department showed a plume of smoke rising above the fire.
