Starbucks is entering its mysterious era with a "surprise" collectible inspired by its iconic Frappuccinos.
With its summer menu in full swing and temperatures heating up across North America, the popular coffeehouse picked the perfect time to debut its new lineup of Surprise Mini Frappuccino Keychains.
Like its name would suggest, the new collectible features six unique designs inspired by the fan-favorite blended beverage. Each cold cup keychain is sold in an unsuspecting "mystery box," so customers won't know what one they've gotten until they unwrap it.

The new line of collectibles celebrates several of the chain's most sought-after Frappuccino blended beverages of past and present, featuring odes to more "retro favorites" (like the S’mores Frappuccino, Tie-dye Frappuccino, Birthday Frappuccino and the Unicorn Frappuccino) as well as more current classics (including its Strawberry Crème Frappuccino and Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino)–a design detail customers quickly picked up on.
Starbucks Surprise Mini Frappuccino collectible keychains are now available in six collectible designs for a limited time at locations nationwide this summer.So far, fans appear to be taking to them as well as they did some of Starbucks' other limited-edition drinkware, so if you find yourself among the cohorts who have to have one, you might want to consider these as something you "buy on sight" (or you risk waiting until they inevitably hit the resale market like collectibles past for a much steeper price).
"Starbucks marketing team did really great with those keychains," one social media user wrote in response to a recent Reddit post from a Starbucks fan who spotted the new item in-store and shared a photo online. The original poster (OP) later said they "wanted them all" even though they found the keychains to be "kinda pricey."
"But i couldn’t hold back because i know if i don’t buy it now they’ll be sold out when i really want one!" OP added.
"Ngl I would use my tip money to buy that first tan one," another Reddit user who claimed to be a barista admitted. "Maybe the mocha looking one. It’s adorable."
"Honestly they were smart for that, blind bags/boxes have become so popular," someone else wrote, "I haven't seen these in my store yet so if/when we get them I definitely think they'll [sell] quickly."
The new Surprise Mini Frappuccino Cold Cup keychains are now available at Starbucks locations nationwide for $14.95 each, but only while supplies last.
