ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A 44-year-old Rochester business owner has pleaded guilty to filing a false income tax return.
The Assistant U.S. Attorney says Gregory Coco, who owns Century Asphalt Maintenance, a driveway sealing company in Rochester, took payments from customers for his services that totaled more than $2 million from 2017 through 2022.
However, the assistant attorney says Coco intentionally underreported his income to his tax return preparer by a total of more than $1 million.
As a result, Coco failed to pay the IRS more than $465,000. He now faces up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Coco is scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 7.
