Joining in with “No Kings” rallies across the country on Saturday, many Orange and Durham County community members took part in local protests. Between events in Chapel Hill, Hillsborough and Durham, thousands of people marched or stood against the actions of President Donald Trump and his administration to amass power and wield unchecked executive authority.
Read Chapelboro’s coverage of the Chapel Hill rally, which worked its way to Carrboro, and see photos gathered by the news team across protests in other areas of the community.
Organized nationally by the anti-Trump and pro-democracy advocacy group Indivisible, the “No Kings” national day of protest followed up a similar one organized in April called “Hands Off.” Local coverage of that event can be found here.
