The attention of the football world remains squarely on the FIFA Club World Cup as a new week of action begins on Monday.
There are three matches from the 32-team tournament to savour, with Chelsea making their first Group D appearance against MLS side Los Angeles FC in the first game of the day (8pm BST).
The second Group C game between Boca Juniors and Benfica follows (11pm BST) before a late contest between Brazilian outfit Flamengo and Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Tunis (2am Tuesday BST).

Bet of the Day – Benfica to beat Boca Juniors @ 7/10
Benfica fell just short of achieving their major goals this season when finishing two points behind Sporting to be runners-up in the Primeira Liga and going out in the last 16 of the Champions League.
They also lost in the Portuguese Cup final to Sporting, but won the Portuguese League Cup, beating the same rivals on penalties in the final.
The Portuguese side set a solid standard and their Argentinian opponents may not be able to match them after an indifferent 2024 league campaign in which they finished sixth.
They came second in the 2025 Apertura campaign but made a quarter-final exit in the playoffs and could struggle to impress in their first Club World Cup appearance since 2007.
With Greek forward Vangelis Pavlidis leading their attack after making 41 goal contributions this season, Benfica can get three valuable points on the board.
Special of the Day – Chelsea to win and both teams to score v LAFC @ 7/4
Chelsea ended their 2024-25 campaign with a Champions League place and a European trophy after their Conference League success against Real Betis and Enzo Maresca’s squad could also give a good account of themselves in this tournament.
The Blues and Manchester City are the only Premier League representatives in the competition and they have been handed an attractive first match against MLS side Los Angeles FC.
The LA team are 2,000 miles from home themselves for the match in Atlanta, Georgia, and they were the final team to secure a place in the competition after winning a playoff match against Mexican side America to replace Leon.
The Californian side are only fifth of 15 in the MLS Western Conference and could find the Premier League squad too classy for them, but they are capable of bagging a consolation goal, with both teams having scored in nine of their last 11 fixtures.
Long Shot of the Day – Giorgian De Arrascaeta first goalscorer in Flamengo v Esperance Sportive de Tunis @ 17/4
The other match in Chelsea’s group sees Flamengo taking on Esperance Sportive de Tunis at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Both sides have had excellent seasons in their respective domestic leagues, with Flamengo top of the table in the early stages of the 2025 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, while Esperance swept the board in Tunisia, winning the Ligue 1 title, the Tunisian Cup and the Tunisian Super Cup.
They went out in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, however, and could find this stronger competition too tough as well.
Flamengo’s top scorer Giorgian De Arrascaeta is a man in form with nine goals in 11 games this season and he looks a great bet to score first in the City of Brotherly Love.
The Uruguayan has been his team’s first scorer in the last four matches that they have scored in, failing to find the net only in their goalless draw with Botafogo last month.
