Florida beefed up its running back depth for the 2026 season with a big-time recruiting victory when Carsyn Baker committed to Billy Napier and the Gators.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prize told On3 of his commitment on Friday night. It was a double-whammy of sorts for Florida because Baker isn’t just a 4-star talent; he’s from the state of Georgia, so the Gators got Baker while taking him away from a rival state in the SEC. Baker is from Fairburn, GA, and he chose Florida over South Carolina, with Florida State and defending national champion Ohio State also in the mix.
Baker had over 50 offers during his recruitment, so this is a huge recruiting victory for Florida. Choosing the Gators meant a lot to Baker, and he posted a message on social media that told everybody that. It read: “Gator Nation I’m home” with 3 alligator emojis following the message.

Baker joins an already strong list of recruits for 2026 in Gainesville that includes: 4-star athlete Justin Williams, 4-star quarterback Will Griffin, offensive tackle Chancellor Campbell, interior offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr, defensive lineman Jamir Perez, tight end Kekua Aumua and safety Kaiden Hall.
