LSU has landed a commitment from New Albany (Miss.) High offensive tackle Emanuel Tucker.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder announced his commitment on Thursday during a live ceremony on the On3 YouTube page. Tucker picked coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers over Ole Miss. He had previously committed to Jeff Lebby and Mississippi State back in February, but left the class days after taking an official visit to Oxford. Some believed the Rebels were in a strong position to land his commitment, but an OV to LSU last weekend helped get the Tigers over the top.
According to 247Sports’ Tom Loy, LSU line coach Brad Davis kept the line of communication open with Tucker even after his initial commitment to Mississippi State and that was a big pro in LSU’s column. During Thursday’s livestream, he told On3 he informed Kelly of his intention before he left Baton Rouge last week.
“I thought it was a better place for me,” he said on the livestream. “Coach Davis is amazing, with his history. Last year, he got Will Campbell in (the NFL) with the fourth pick in the first round. I believe in him and I trust that he’s going to get me where I need to be.”
Tucker is the 10th-ranked recruit from the state of Mississippi and the 17th-ranked tackle in the 2026 class, according to the industry-generated 247 Composite. He’s a 4-star prospect who sits at No. 221 overall in the national player rankings.
In football, Tucker has extended experience on both sides of the football. He has a basketball background and also competes in track and field for New Albany. As a junior, Tucker was the Mississippi 4A state discus champion (139-5). He also finished eighth at state in the shot put (37-1).
Tucker becomes LSU’s 10 known commitment in the 2026 class. The group ranks 10th nationally in the 247 Composite, and now features 9 blue-chippers. You can view his highlight tape below, via Hudl:
