CBC reports that there are working documents outline details of a potential US-Canada trade deal.
There have been numerous reports over the past two weeks indicating talks and a potential deal before the G7 on June 15. The report cites three sources with direct knowledge of the situation.
"There are warnings from multiple sources that more work needs to be done before there's an agreement," the report says, highlighting there is 'no expectation' of a deal before the G7.
There are few details in the report but the document is said to be 'fewer than five pages'. Among them are military commitments.
Presumably, it would include something on steel and aluminum tariffs. That's an area where yesterday there were reports that the US and Mexico were close to a deal.
"It remains unclear what the American side is willing to commit to, although Canada has lobbied aggressively for tariff relief," the report says.
