The 26-year-old Australia National Cricket Team all-rounder Cameron Green has opened up on receiving a message from the India National Cricket Team pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah just before he underwent back surgery.
Cameron Donald Green said that receiving a message from Jasprit Bumrah made him feel a lot better and provided him with the reassurance that he was "doing the right thing" by having surgery.

Green is regarded by many as the next big thing in Australian cricket, but his career has been marred by injuries. Also, he has chronic kidney disease (CKD), a progressive condition he was born with, and manages his condition with a strict diet and medical supervision.
He had picked up a back injury last year, for which he had to undergo surgery in October. Green was forced to miss a lot of cricket due to surgery, but has now fully recovered and is raring to go.
He prepared himself for the ICC World Test Championship Final against South Africa with his stint for Gloucestershire in County Cricket and will be looking to deliver a good performance.
Green wants to once again establish himself as the proper top-class all-rounder for Australia, but said that he enjoys playing as a sole batter due to his injuries.
"The silver lining to having four back injuries is I've got four chances only to be a batter. I felt like my game's always been good around those periods.
"I'm always going to keep bowling, but you're so much more relaxed [with] half a game to worry about. When you're bowling and batting, there's so much more you have to do bowling wise to keep yourself fit and ready to play. It does take away from batting. So, certainly, just batting is nice," he said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
That is really special - Cameron Green on Jasprit Bumrah's message
Green's stress fracture could have naturally healed over nine months to a year, but he opted for surgery. The night before he went under the knife, Cameron Green received a message from Jasprit Bumrah, which he found "really special".
Notably, Bumrah had himself undergone back surgery 18 months earlier, and he returned from it stunningly, delivering match-winning performances for India consistently.
Meanwhile, Cameron Green said that Bumrah messaged him in the middle of the Test series against New Zealand in India, and seeing his performance in Australia filled him with confidence.
"That is really special. And makes you feel a lot better about it. I didn't play with him in Mumbai but that was the connection through there. Spent a bit of time with him there. To get someone like him to reach out and then to watch him during the summer, to see how good he is obviously post-surgery, filled me with a lot of confidence," said the 26-year-old as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Absolutely no issues batting at three - Cameron Green
There is a high possibility of Cameron Green batting at No.3 for the Australia National Cricket Team in the WTC Final 2025 as reportedly Marnus Labuschagne is in contention to be promoted to the opening spot, leaving room for Green at No.3. The star all-rounder is also ready to bat at the No.3 spot if he gets the opportunity. He said:
"You grow up through your whole career, you speak to anyone here, they've definitely batted in the top three or four throughout their whole junior career.
"I was no different, batting three until you get to first-class cricket. Absolutely no issues batting at three when you've done it your whole life."
