We are not far away from the start of Euro 2025 and manager Sarina Wiegman has named her England squad for the tournament.
In recent weeks, some huge names including Mary Earps, Fran Kirby and Millie Bright have revealed they will play no part as the Lionesses look to defend their title.
So who will the Lionesses turn to now? talkSPORT.com takes a look at some of the young England stars who are set to play a starring role out in Switzerland this summer.
Grace Clinton
Widely viewed as one of the best midfielders in the WSL right now, Grace Clinton could be a game-changer this summer. The Everton academy graduate was signed by Man United back in 2022, but it was during a loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur in the 2023/24 season that she really made a name for herself.
She was a key reason for Spurs’ marked success that season, the highlight of which was their run to the FA Cup final. A cruel twist of fate meant that Clinton was not ultimately able to star in that final, given they were facing her parent club The Red Devils.
But she was named the PFA Young Player of the Year and crucially, earned herself a first call-up from Sarina Wiegman. While she did not get minutes from her first two call-ups, she did not disappoint when her time finally came. She scored just 19 minutes after entering the pitch as the Lionesses romped to a 7-2 win over Austria.
She has gone on to score twice more in nine additional appearances and, at just 22 years old, is set to grace the pitch for England for many years to come.
Michelle Agyemang
From one perfect England debut to another, meet 19 year-old Michelle Agyemang. She had been on the pitch for just 41 seconds in a Lionesses shirt when she managed to pull off a stunning control-and-volley move, smashing the ball into the top corner.
Unfortunately, her heroics weren’t enough to save England from a 3-2 defeat to Belgium in that game, but the calls for her inclusion into the Euro 2025 squad became loud indeed after that debut. A remarkable turn of events, especially given that she had only been called up to that camp after Alessia Russo picked up an injury.
But the Arsenal loanee has certainly come into her own throughout the last WSL season, where she has played a starring role at up-and-coming Brighton. Having joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of six, Agyemang’s football journey has seen her transition from a defender to a forward. She has worked her up through England’s youth setup too and has now rightly taken her place in the senior squad.
As she once told Goal.com, Agyemang has always been drawn to the Gunners – despite the fact that her father is a huge Man United fan. And her idols?
“I was a really big fan of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott as well,” she admitted.

Aggie Beever Jones
It takes a very special player indeed to score a hat-trick on their first ever England appearance at Wembley Stadium. Aggie Beever-Jones did exactly that in the Lionesses’ penultimate Nations League game against Portugal, helping them a 6-0 win.
In the process, she also gave Sarina Wiegman a serious dilemma when it comes to picking her number 9. While the boss is likely to go with the tried and tested Russo up top, there is a strong argument that it should be the Chelsea forward who earns the spot instead.
Despite her age, Beever Jones has already won two WSL title, two FA Cups and a League Cup trophy with the Blues. She grabbed 13 goals in 39 appearances last season and has been one of the club’s most valuable players this season.
The youngster certainly had to bide her time, going on a series of loan spells to Bristol City and Everton before she arrived back at Chelsea in 2023 ready to prove herself – and she has done exactly that.
Not to mention, we all love a fairytale ending – and it so happens that Beever-Jones will celebrate her 22nd birthday on the day of the Euro 2025 final. Wouldn’t it be the perfect story if the birthday girl could grab a special goal to celebrate? Well, England have to get there first, so better not get ahead of ourselves.

After the announcement that Millie Bright was removing herself from consideration for the Lionesses squad for Euro 2025, attention naturally turned to which players might step into her centre-back role alongside skipper Leah Williamson.
While Alex Greenwood might seem the more experienced name, Man United captain Maya Le Tissier provides an excellent alternative – especially if Wiegman wants to keep Greenwood available for the left-back position, where she is more naturally suited.

She led her side to an FA Cup final and helped them secure Champions League football for next season.
Never afraid to put her body on the line to make some truly outstanding tackles, the 23-year-old recently become the youngest player ever to reach 100 WSL appearances too.
A player with the makings of a future England captain, Le Tissier has already taken Man United to new heights. She may well face her biggest task to date this summer though if she is asked to step into the shoes of the formidable Bright.
Jess Park
Rounding off this list is speedy and skilful winger Jess Park. Her technicality and speed are what make the 23-year-old stand out, and she brings something unique to this Lionesses squad.
Park is never afraid to take on one, two (or ten) defenders at a time – and more often than not, she comes out on top. Having played for Man City since 2017, she has 22 goals in her 119 appearances for her club.

Watch out for Park’s outrageous long-range strikes in Switzerland – because she is no stranger to finding the back of the net from tough positions. And that might just be exactly what the Lionesses need this summer.
