Hamilton made history in 2016 at the Tony Awards with a record-breaking 16 nominations and an overall 11 wins, including Best Musical. The show went on to receive a Grammy Award, Olivier Award, Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors. Additionally, its Original Broadway Cast Recording became the first in history to be certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The Tony Awards will broadcast live on Sunday, June 8, 2025 beginning at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. It will subsequently stream on Paramount+.
