As fans of Billy Joel consider the revelations about the musician shown in his new documentary, Billy Joel: So It Goes, the singer's first wife, Elizabeth Weber, who participated in the film, shared exactly where the former couple's relationship stands today.
While speaking with Page Sixat the Tribeca Festival premiere of the documentary on June 4 in New York City, Weber opened up about her current relationship with the "Uptown Girl" singer.

Despite being a part of the new documentary, Weber noted that the two don't have a substantial relationship these days, saying, "[We’re] friendly but not close."
She continued, boldly saying, "I mean, we got divorced for a reason," before noting that, like Joel, she went on to have a few more marriages, telling the publication, "And, you know, I’ve been married a few times, too. And if I were close to all my exes, I wouldn’t be here tonight!”

Joel and Weber were married from 1973 to 1982. The former went on to marry model Christie Brinkley from 1985 to 1994, and Katie Lee from 2004 to 2009. He later married Alexis Roderick in 2015, and they are still together. Meanwhile, Weber lived a life out of the public eye after her divorce from Joel.
Recently, Joel revealed that he was diagnosed with a brain disorder called normal pressure hydrocephalus, leading the singer to cancel all of his shows to focus on his health.
