Trevor Jackson may play a doctor in training on TV, but the Grey’s AnatomySeason 21 finale left him just as surprised as the rest of the world.
“I was tripping out!” Jackson, 28, exclusively tells Parade while discussing his partnership with EBGLYSS. “Most times when I'm working, especially if it's like [in] an ensemble cast, I tend to not want to know too much information about anything else that's going on and just focus on my scenes because I don't want to implicate anything that I know is coming.”
In the shocking season finale episode (spoiler alert!), an explosion happens at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, leaving fans wondering who was hurt and who is going to make it out alive.

“When I was watching that episode, I was like, ‘What the…? Oh my goodness!’ Crazy, crazy cliffhanger,” Jackson continues. “And it just got me more excited because I know people are on the edges of their seats. [They] can't wait for the next season, and hopefully we give people what they want.”
Jackson joined the cast of the show in the spring as a new surgical intern at the fictitious Seattle hospital. In last month’s finale, the gas explosion occurred at the very end after a hostage situation unfolded earlier in the episode.
While Jackson waits until the show picks back up in the fall like the rest of the world to see what will happen next, he’s focused on his new music, which is featured in a commercial by Lilly, a medicine company based in his hometown of Indianapolis.

Launched during this year’s Grammy Awards, the commercial is part of a new direct-to-consumer advertising campaign for EBGLYSS, which was recently approved in the U.S. as a first-line biologic treatment for adults and children 12 years and older who suffer from eczema, just like many members of his family.
“I wanted to be a part of it because eczema is something that has impacted a few people that are close to me, especially my dad,” the Grown-ish actor shares. “And one of the biggest things I've learned from him is that, no matter what you're facing, it's important to feel comfortable in your own skin. I also have cousins that have moderate to severe eczema.”
He adds, “Also, EBGLYSS is from Indiana. I'm from Indiana, and we're all about love and uniting people and helping people in whatever way we can. So I always want to align with brands and companies that are doing that — and that's their priority and focus because that's always mine. I want to unify people.”
