One part of Salma Hayek's beauty routine may come as a shock to fans—but those who've tried it confirm it's an absolute game-changer.
The Magic Mike's Last Dance actress, 58, recently opened up about how she maintains her youthful appearance, admitting that she implements a practice her grandmother taught her: not washing her face in the mornings.
In a video with Vogue where she divulged several beauty secrets and hacks (along with specific products she uses), within the very first minute of speaking, Hayek said, "My grandmother taught me not to wash my face in the morning because then you take off all the good oils that your skin works so hard all night, you know, to have."
Though it may seem like a surprising routine to not start your skincare regimen with washing your face, fans in the comment section who've tried it also swear by the practice, as it is not the first time the Without Blood star has shared the habit.
"I stopped washing my face in the morning because of Salma years ago and oh boy. It changed everything!" one wrote in the comment section of the YouTube video, while another emphatically agreed, chiming in with their own experience: "Me too! Has slowed down my aging process and made me look younger!"
More affirmed the unexpected beauty choice is a good one, adding things like, "100% FACTS!" "Me too, I had dry skin, and hurt, and stop washing it and a miracle happened and I recovered my skin..," "Yup. Only water in the morning. Game changer," and "Same!!! I’m in my 20s but when I heard that she never used face cleanser in the morning so I stopped too."
Meanwhile, someone else couldn't get over Hayek's appreciation for her natural beauty: "I’m 29 and this bought tears to my eyes. I just love how she’s in love with the naturalness of aging and continuing to love yourself. This was beautiful and needed!"
