Abby Lee Miller, the undeniably prominent and often polarizing figure known for her role as the tough-as-nails dance instructor on the immensely popular reality television show Dance Moms, has recently leveled serious accusations regarding her medical treatment. The dance coach, whose name is synonymous with intense training and high expectations, has publicly stated that a foreign object was left inside her body by medical professionals for an alarming period of approximately four years.
The 58-year-old television personality detailed her unsettling experience, stating that the object, which appears to be a catheter component according to some interpretations of the images and reports, was only recently discovered. This revelation, reported by TMZ, has led Miller to take formal legal steps.
She is actively pursuing legal action, having filed a lawsuit that names Cedars-Sinai Marina Hospital. To support her claims, Miller has included a photograph of the alleged foreign object as part of her lawsuit, offering visual evidence to bolster her assertion of medical negligence. Miller claims that the object was left during a 2020 spinal surgery and is suing for medical negligence, professional negligence, medical battery.

Cedars-Sinai has responded to the claims, “Cedars-Sinai cannot comment on pending legal matters. Also, due to federal and state privacy laws, Cedars-Sinai cannot discuss any patient’s medical treatment."
The statement continues, "However, the care and safety of our patients, staff and visitors are always Cedars-Sinai’s top priorities. We are dedicated to ensuring that we meet the highest standards of care for all those we serve."
The legal challenge comes at a challenging time for Miller, who has faced a series of health battles in recent years. In 2018, she underwent emergency spinal surgery for what was initially thought to be a spinal infection. This procedure ultimately led to a diagnosis of Burkitt lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The ensuing battle for her health involved multiple rounds of chemotherapy and further surgeries. Miller has been candid about the physical and emotional toll of her illness and recovery, which has included learning to walk again and adapting to life with mobility challenges, often using a wheelchair.
