Samsung teases premium foldable phone with enhanced camera and AI

Samsung's upcoming high-end foldable phone is generating excitement with its promise of an "Ultra-experience" in a compact, portable design. A key feature is its powerful camera system, designed to significantly elevate mobile photography and reflect Samsung's commitment to cutting-edge technology.

Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its new foldable flagships, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Fold 7. Both smartphones are expected to be introduced in the coming weeks, so it makes sense for the South Korean giant to start hyping its new lineup of foldables. The first teaser released by Samsung is a bit confusing because it refers to “an Ultra experience,” which the company believes its fans have been asking for. The short post on its official website then talks about AI and its optimization for the foldable format, something that apparently, “users have come to expect from Galaxy Ultra.”

This teaser raises many questions. Namely, just how powerful will the camera be on this new phone? Will it, like the skinny S25 Edge, match the 200-megapixel main camera on the S25 Ultra? And will the new foldable's cover display also match the size of the S25 Ultra?

Samsung appears to be on a "pushing the limits of engineering" kick, what with the recent launch of the super-slim Galaxy S25 Edge, and now this mystery Ultra foldable. We'll see what other details unfold with time.

Regardless, these past listings pretty clearly tell us that this new device is the Galaxy Z Fold 7, making that Samsung’s first device with Qi2 support. However, this is highly unlikely to be “proper” Qi2 support. Between looking at Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series and the rumored thin profile of Fold 7, it’s far more likely the device will be “Qi2 Ready,” meaning it has been certified to work with cases that add a magnetic ring for charger alignment and accessories, rather than placing the magnets within the actual frame. “Qi2 Ready” was introduced earlier this year as a part of the Qi 2.1.0 update that Samsung has registered this device with.

Moreover, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) features into these devices marks a significant evolution in smartphone functionality. Recent iterations of Samsung’s foldable phones, such as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, showcase enhanced AI tools that assist users in various tasks—from real-time translation to intelligent text suggestions . These developments not only improve usability but also position Samsung as a leader in merging sophisticated hardware with innovative software solutions.
