As the star of such classic movies as Beaches and Hocus Pocus and the singer of unforgettable hits like "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "The Rose," Bette Midler has always been known for her incredibly powerful voice — and, in her younger years, her oftentimes fiery red mane of hair. While the 79-year-old star has been keeping a relatively low profile lately, a recent appearance proved she's just as "divine" as ever, as far as her fans are concerned...red hair or not.
In a photo shared to Instagram by a Bette Midler fan account this week, Midler caught up with her former Hello, Dolly! castmate Jennifer Simard backstage at Broadway's current production of Death Becomes Her. Midler posed alongside Simard with a smile on her face, her silver hair pulled back in what looked like a bun or a ponytail, and she wore a beige jacket with white beaded buttons up the front.

Fans loved seeing the iconic performer back on Broadway, even as a spectator.
"She’s the BEST!!!" gushed one person.
"This post makes me so happy. DIVINE. Both of you!" raved a second commenter, with another agreeing, "Always Divine????."
"What a beautiful soul ?," declared someone else.
In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Midler reflected on the beginnings of her ambitious career, admitting that she was determined to "make it no matter what."
"In my defense, I couldn’t do anything else," she quipped, going on to say, "I’d had jobs before and had always failed at them. When I was a salesgirl, I was completely bewildered when someone came in to return something. I wouldn’t understand how it was done. I worked for Western Union for months. I didn’t understand how to send a telegram."
"So, it’s not that I didn’t try to do other things, but if it didn’t have a performative aspect to it, I didn’t know how it was done," Midler added. "And I was terribly lucky."
