Glastonbury has announced the full line-up for this year’s festival later this month and stitched into the fabric of the event is an unheard of act called Patchwork.
Amid major performers such as Neil Young, Raye, Brandi Carlile and the Kaiser Chiefs on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, Patchwork will make its appearance from 6pm to 7pm.
Observant fans suspect Patchwork could be a cover for a secret set by a big-name band and has sparked speculation about the real identity.
In 2023, a similar scenario saw the ChurnUps appear on the line-up only to be revealed on the night as the Foo Fighters.
Festival organisers have not elaborated on the creative genius behind Patchwork but the rumour mill has ground into action.
We take a look at who may be hiding under the Patchwork title.

Pulp is among the big-name acts suggested as a potential contender for the Patchwork performance.
After releasing their first album in 24 years More, the Britpop veterans have been busy promoting it, with a special concert for BBC Radio 2 last weekend.
With a string of hits such as “Common People” and “Disco 2000”, they are no strangers to Glastonbury having headlined the Pyramid stage twice previously and so could be back for a third time.
There remains one missing piece in the patchwork puzzle – they have no apparent link with the name itself.
Haim
Haim has something in the name which could allude to Patchwork (Photo: Dominique Charriau/WireImage/Getty)US rock band Haim is also in the mix as they are about to embark on a world tour including dates in North America and the UK.
Ahead of the UK leg of the tour, they are planning a one-off gig at Dreamland in Margate on 27 June 27th which would put them in pole position to head to Worthy Farm for Glastonbury weekend.
Like Pulp, they have a new album I Quit to promote and are also Pyramid Stage veterans from 2022.
Unlike Pulp, they do have a connection to the word Patchwork. The sibling band shares the name Haim with the author Sylvia Haim who wrote a book entitled Patchwork: Die Neue Familie.
@glastonbury @secretglasto My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband …. What do you think? #glastonbury2025 pic.twitter.com/QsUvkWFbrP

The folk rock band Mumford and Sons is among the names being dropped as a possible Patchwork as they embark on their Railroad Revival tour of the US.
But like Haim have a convenient gap in the gigs around Glastonbury weekend.
They previously headlined the festival in 2013 but said earlier this year they would not be heading to Worthy Farm in 2025.
Their new album Rushmere, released in March, is a reference to the pond on Wimbledon Common where the band members first met but have no obvious link to the word Patchwork.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga has admitted it wouldn’t take much to tempt her back to Glastonbury (Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage for Live Nation/Getty)Lady Gaga’s name has also been bandied around as the possible real identity of Patchwork.
The US singer-songwriter is currently on her Mayhem Ball tour and is due in the UK this autumn.
Like the other acts rumoured to be behind the secret set, she released a new album this year, Mayhem and has had history with the Somerset-based festival, playing there in 2009.
Asked by the BBC earlier this year what it would take for her to headline the festival again, she replied: “Not much”.
Who else has been added to the Glastonbury line-up?
Glastonbury headliners have been well publicised for months, with The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo on the Pyramid Stage. Charli XCX, Rod Stewart, The Prodigy and Wolf Alice were also known to be making an appearance.
Now festival organisers have released the full line-up with the odd TBA sprinkled among the varying stages to keep music lovers guessing.
