West Indies were thrashed by England in the first ODI at Edgbaston on May 29, Thursday. The Caribbean side faced a fine after the match, as match referee Jeff Crowe fined West Indies for maintaining a slow over-rate in the first ODI.
Shai Hope led the team that faced five per cent of every player’s match fee as West Indies were one over short in the given time at the end of the first innings.

West Indies fined heavily by the ICC
The match referee imposed a five per cent fine on every player’s match fees under Article 2.22 penalty in the match. The article of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which refers to the minimum over-rate offences.
