The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had planned a grand closing ceremony for the IPL 2025 final, which is set to take place on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. As part of the celebrations, the BCCI had invited the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force to join the event and celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor.
However, a Dainik Jagran report now revealed that the Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh have turned down the BCCI’s request to attend the IPL 2025 final.
The report confirmed that the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force will not be attending the closing ceremony of this season. However, the reason behind their decision not to attend the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is not yet known.

Earlier this week, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia had announced that all three chiefs, along with senior officers and soldiers from the Indian Armed Forces, were invited to celebrate the bravery and service shown in Operation Sindoor before the summit clash in Ahmedabad.
Saikia had said that the BCCI proudly salutes the "bravery, courage, and selfless service" of the Indian armed forces. The original plan for the closing ceremony included live performances by the musical bands of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Border Security Force (BSF).
Military-themed IPL 2025 Final celebration plans dropped
The BCCI had also arranged special seating for 1,000 soldiers, military officers, and their families inside the stadium. Even the big screens were set up at the Narendra Modi Stadium to display short films and visuals showcasing India’s heroic military stories to give fans a sense of national pride.
But on Thursday, as reported by Dainik Jagran, BCCI sources confirmed that they got the message from the Indian government that chiefs of the armed forces will not be able to join the celebrations in Ahmedabad, which led to changes in the program.
Without sharing many details, the sources said that they have made some adjustments to their plans after the government's indications.

Now how will BCCI pay tribute to Operation Sindoor?
Now, Bollywood singer Shankar Mahadevan will perform patriotic songs before the grand finale begins in Ahmedabad on June 3, instead of the earlier military-themed celebration. The stadium will be decorated with the Indian national flag at multiple spots to honor the success of Operation Sindoor.
