Brevis introduced himself to Hampshire supporters in sensational fashion, blasting a 32-ball 68 on his Vitality T20 Blast debut against Essex. His fireworks helped the Hawks register their highest-ever T20 total at the Utilita Bowl—230—and crush Essex by a massive 106 runs.

Coming in after a 97-run opening stand between James Vince (62 off 31) and Toby Albert (54 off 34), Brevis took over the party. He launched six monstrous sixes, many into the leg-side stands, and brought up his fifty in just 21 deliveries. One of those sixes even came one-handed.

Despite the team’s dismal campaign that saw them finish bottom of the table for the first time ever, Brevis emerged as a rare bright spot. He scored 225 runs in just 6 innings at a staggering strike rate of 180.00—CSK’s highest among all batters. His tally included two rapid fifties, both at a strike rate exceeding 200.

The 22-year-old’s finest hour came in the final game against the Gujarat Titans, where he torched their bowling attack for a 23-ball 57, including five sixes and four boundaries. That knock helped CSK post their highest total of the season—230/5—and end their campaign with a thumping 83-run win.

Fascinatingly, initially hesitant to join, Brevis reportedly declined Delhi Capitals, who looked to sign him as Harry Brook’s replacement. Brevis wanted assurance of a starting spot. Once MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming gave him that guarantee, there was no looking back.
