When are new episodes of Murderbot out on Apple TV+? ...Middle East

Episodes of the Apple TV+ sci-fi comedy series Murderbot are being released weekly, and so far critics and fans alike seem hugely impressed with the adaptation of Martha Wells's Murderbot Diaries novels.

The series stars Alexander Skarsgård, who has himself admitted that it's something of a departure from his usual dramatic or "brooding" roles in projects such as Succession and The Northman.

He told Entertainment Weekly of Murderbot: "I really fell in love with that character. I hope that people will enjoy spending some time with a socially awkward android... I spent a good time being dull and brooding so it was nice to do something more comedic."

The series has been adapted from the novels by screenwriters Chris and Paul Weitz, known for their work on American Pie, Rogue One and The Creator, and Skarsgård told RadioTimes.com that it's a faithful adaptation.

He said: "The first season is based on All Systems Red, which is the first novella of the series of the Murderbot Diaries, and it’s a novella.

"It's very short, it's brief, it's condensed, the storyline is pretty straightforward in terms of, like, the beats that are happening, the action beats with that kind of propels it forward.

"And so we felt that was the structure that's kind of the blueprint, and it works really well in the novella, so there was no reason to kind of change that."
