Interstate 25 was closed near Mead Thursday morning after a crash, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
I-25 is closed in both directions between northbound exit 243 for Mead and southbound exit 250 for Berthoud, state patrol officials said.
Colorado Department of Transportation cameras in the area of the crash at 6:30 a.m. showed an overturned tractor-trailer and multiple emergency vehicles blocking the highway as a crane worked to clear debris from the crash.
The tractor-trailer was carrying paper products and stereo fuel cans, according to Mountain View Fire Rescue, which responded to the crash.
One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the fire agency said.
It’s unknown when I-25 will reopen, but drivers should expect an extended delay and take alternate routes where possible, according to Mountain View Fire Rescue.
