Fans React to Major Harry Potter Casting News

Fans have been reacting to some major Harry Potter casting news.

On May 27, Variety reported that the roles of Harry Potter and his fellow Gryffindors, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, have been cast for the upcoming Max reboot series, based on the book series by J.K. Rowling. According to the publication, Dominic McLaughlin will be playing Harry, Arabella Stanton will be playing the brightest witch of her age, and Alastair Stout will be portraying Ron.

The publication also released a picture that showed McLaughlin, Stanton, and Stout posing together.

As fans are aware, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson were the original actors who played Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the film series.

Several Reddit users shared their opinions regarding the Harry Potter casting news on the Fauxmoi subreddit. Quite a few commenters felt that the casting was well done for the upcoming series.

When one commenter said they believed Stanton "looks like hermionie [sic]," another responded, "I think she does as well. Obviously I don't know about her acting skills, but she's got the right look for it."

"Absolutely not watching this, but purely based on the picture they seem like good casting - the girl especially has big Hermione energy in her smile. I hope people aren't too awful to them," shared a different Reddit user.

"They look just the part, all of them! Especially Ron," wrote a commenter.

Some commenters, however, shared they were concerned about how the young actors' lives will be changed once the new Harry Potter series premieres. "So innocent. I wish them the best. Their lives are going to change forever," wrote a Reddit user.

"wonder if they're going to meet the OG cast.. for tips on how to cope. of course the OG cast had no 'baggage' to inherit. but their lives changed nonetheless.. these kids can't even go to regular school now. their Hogwarts classmates will be IRL classmates.. they'll go to class on set until high school," added another.

"i’m super excited, this is great casting!! i hope the company and their parents will protect them from any a------s online, i don’t care how much someone hates this show they have absolutely no right to bully and harass children," commented a social media user.
