DC's James Gunn has been very, very busy lately, what with overseeing development of DC's Cinematic Universe and his own ongoing projects with Superman and Season 2 of Peacemaker.
While both projects couldn't be further apart stylistically, the 58-year-old co-chairman and CEO of DC Studios has since hinted his two passion projects might share a few obvious similarities.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the Guardians of the Galaxy director shared a few intriguing connections between Superman and the upcoming season of Peacemaker, including a few familiar faces popping up from one project to the next.
In particular, Gunn said that Peacemaker's second season will feature several stars from Superman, most notably in the form of Nathan Fillion's Green Lantern, Isabela Merced's Hawkgirl and Sean Gunn's Maxwell Lord.

"We see a lot of different characters from Superman in the [season], [such as] Isabela and Nathan and Sean, and then we see a bunch of other characters later on in the season from other parts of the DCU and from Superman," Gunn explained.
As for whether the Man of Steel himself might appear in Peacemaker's second season later this summer, Gunn teased a potentially massive cameo from a pre-established hero in the DCU.
"There might even be one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show," Gunn hinted.
Gunn's highly anticipated take on Superman will arrive in theaters on July 11 this coming summer. Starring David Corenswet as the titular alien superhero, Superman will find Corenswet's character confronting his dual identities as an extraterrestrial outsider and the optimistic protector of Metropolis. Nicholas Hoult co-stars as Superman's sworn arch-enemy Lex Luthor, with Rachel Brosnahan set to appear as the character's overarching love interest, Lois Lane.
