ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It has not been your typical Memorial Day weekend weather for Rochester. In fact, leading up to this holiday, we have had eight days in a row with unseasonably cool weather and the frequency of the rain is much more than we would like. And even though the weather pattern is not “summer-like”, the next 48 hours should be a significant improvement.
Tonight, look for any lingering showers to come to an end with even a little clearing later tonight. There will be the chance of some patchy valley fog with the low temperature in the middle 40s. Memorial day will bring mostly sunny skies and it will turn noticeably warmer with most spots reaching the upper 60s. The one exception will be communities along the Lake Ontario shoreline where temperatures will stay in the 50s. Tuesday more sunshine for the morning while it turns hazy by the afternoon. Again, the high temperature will be within a few degrees of 70.
Then the wet weather likely returns by later Wednesday through Saturday with periodic showers heading into the next weekend.
