DANICA PATRICK claimed her relationship with Aaron Rodgers was “emotionally abusive”.
The ex-NASCAR driver also said the NFL quarterback “wore me down to nothing” and “leaves a trail of blood”.
Patrick, 43, and Rodgers, 41, dated for two-and-a-half years from January 2018 until July 2020.
During that time, they bought a $28 million villa together in Malibu and lived in the Californian town.
However, they split up during the early months of Covid.
And the record-breaking motor racer and Sky Sports pundit opened up on her toxic experience to former ESPN broadcaster Sage Steele.
Asked about the most painful moment of her life, Patrick said: “The break-up with Aaron in 2020, because it was sudden. It felt like it was my life.
“So when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life… and because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.
“Someone that you know, people could never imagine that I would lack any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits. He leaves a trail of blood.
“I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff – there’s been enough out there.
“But it gave me the greatest gift, which is myself.
“It gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.”
Rodgers has been complimentary about his relationship with Patrick and said it was “great for me”.
Both have dated since the break-up five years ago.
Patrick went public with her new boyfriend in September while Rodgers is seeing a partner called ‘Brittani’.
Rodgers – a Super Bowl champion in 2011 – is sweating on his football future.
After his long spell with the Green Bay Packers, the veteran spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the New York Jets.
But the four-time NFL MVP is currently without a team for the 2025 season.
Free agent Rodgers has a one-year offer from the Pittsburgh Steelers on the table but is also waiting on the Minnesota Vikings.
