New three-time major winner Scottie Scheffler was eyeing another quickfire victory as he headlines the field for the Charles Schwab Challenge.
However, Scheffler, who clinched PGA Championship glory last time out, has been off the pace in Texas so far.
He came second at this event last season, finishing only behind eventual champion Davis Riley.
But he’s now 10 shots back of the lead as Matthias Schmid and Benjamin Griffin top the leaderboard after two rounds.
Tommy Fleetwood is part of the chasing pack heading into the weekend, hoping to achieve his first ever win in the USA.
Charles Schwab Challenge: Date and how to follow
The 2025 Charles Schwab will take place from Thursday, May 22 to Sunday, May 25.
It is being held at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas – the course is a par 70 and measures a total of 7,289 yards.
Play will get underway at 2pm UK time over the weekend.

The field included 135 players before a halfway cut on Friday.
Scheffler is the top name in the field, while the other top 20 players in the world rankings include Hideki Matsuyama, Maverick McNealy and Fleetwood.
Schmid co-leads heading into Saturday’s action, with Griffin also sitting on -11 with two rounds to play.

Charles Schwab Challenge: What has been said?
Co-leaders Schmid and Griffin were pleased with their second round of play on Friday in Texas.
Schmid said: “I would say it was just a very solid round of golf.
“I started off hot. Had a couple of good breaks on the rough. I gauged the distance right, and I mean, I just played quality golf from there on, I would say.”
Griffin said: “It was good to get a win a few weeks ago. It was nice to be in the top 10 at the PGA Championship last week.
“Yeah, I feel like I’ve put in a lot of work, especially in the gym this year, training really hard, trying to gain some speed, stay healthy and feel good out there and feel strong.”
