Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are clashing with each other in the 65th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday, May 23.
Jitesh Sharma-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have officially revealed their playing XIs and impact players nominated for the match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The RCB vs SRH might be considered a dead rubber because the top four teams have already been finalized, and six teams have been eliminated from the competition.
However, the match still holds importance because it will play a key role in determining where RCB will actually finish inside the top four, as over the years, most of the teams finishing in the top two have only won the competition.
With 17 points in 12 matches, RCB look like hot favorites to finish in the top two, but the Sunrisers Hyderabad could spoil their party as they will come out hard at them with nothing to lose.
However, last year's finalists, SRH, have struggled in IPL 2025, and just a little has clicked for them. With four wins from 12 games, they are aiming for a mid-table finish.
Meanwhile, the match between RCB and SRH is statistically a home game for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The match has been shifted to Lucknow due to persistent rain threats in Bengaluru.
This will act as a big boost for the Rajat Patidar-led side because RCB are unbeaten in six away games this season. However, one thing that will trouble them is the lack of game time, as it has been more than two weeks since they last played a match.
Talking about the IPL head-to-head record, the Sunrisers Hyderabad hold a 13-11 edge over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, but in the last five games, RCB have a 3-2 edge.
Speaking at the toss, RCB stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma said that they would bowl first in the match and confirmed that Rajat Patidar would walk into the team as an impact player. He said:
"We are thinking to bowl first, want to take most of the surface from the moisture."
Meanwhile, SRH skipper Pat Cummins said that they have performed well in the last few matches and would want to continue that. He said:
"We have shown some good signs in the last few games."
