We look ahead to Sunday’s Premier League clash at Craven Cottage with our Fulham vs Man City prediction and preview. Can the visitors confirm their spot in the Champions League?
Fulham vs Man City Stats: The Key Insights
Manchester City came out on top in 55.6% of our data-led simulations for this game. Fulham have lost their last two Premier League home games, despite opening the scoring both times. They last lost more consecutively between March and May 2021 (6). Man City have won each of their last 17 meetings with Fulham in all competitions, the longest winning run one English league side has had against another in history. How Manchester City would react to a disappointing FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace was anyone’s guess. But rather than wallowing in the despair of Wembley heartbreak, Pep Guardiola and company bounced back against Bournemouth, and they now know beating Fulham on Sunday will secure UEFA Champions League football once again.
Defeating the Cottagers is no easy task, especially given the topsy-turvy nature of City’s performances away from home this season. However, Guardiola can take some solace from the knowledge that City have won each of their last 17 meetings with Fulham in all competitions; it’s the longest winning run one English league side has had against another in history.
A spot in next season’s Champions League is all that will matter to Guardiola at this point, though the Spaniard appears destined to finish outside the top two for just the second time in 16 seasons as a top-flight manager (also in 2016-17). The only way he can avoid this is if Arsenal lose heavily to relegated Ipswich and City thrash the Cottagers.
As unlikely as both of those outcomes are, Fulham are a decidedly inconsistent team whose ability is tough to pinpoint. They are just as likely to cause concern for top opposition as they are to come undone against weaker sides. In all competitions, each of their last three wins have been followed by consecutive defeats. They won last week.
What you can guarantee from Fulham is they will make you work for your points. They have won five games this season in which they were behind at half-time, a joint record in the Premier League along with Manchester United in 2020-21 and City last season. Marco Silva’s men also won from such a position last time out against Brentford.
Silva is deserving of credit here, especially given the significance of his substitutions when tasked with turning a game on its head. Fulham have set a new Premier League record this campaign with 17 goals from substitutes. They’ve been worth 17 points to the Cottagers, which is a league-high this season.
Nevertheless, they continue to miss Rodrigo Muniz’s impact from the bench, as the Brazilian looks to have played his final game of the season after damaging his Achilles in April. But in Raúl Jiménez they have a player who is relishing being able to close out games as well as he starts them.
The Mexican has scored 12 goals in the Premier League this season, with nine of them putting Fulham ahead and three drawing them level. Jiménez is the exact profile of forward that City’s defence has been susceptible to this season, and his physicality is a factor Guardiola will be firmly aware of.
While Guardiola is planning how to supress Jiménez, he will also be reviewing how to bring Erling Haaland back to life. After returning from a five-week injury lay-off, the Norwegian has looked a shadow of the player who was in fine goalscoring form in 2025.
Haaland has failed to score in his three games since returning to the side, totalling two shots on target and just 0.40 expected goals (xG). In truth, City were purring in his absence, and his arguably rushed return, though understandable, has done them no favours.

Fulham are winless in 19 Premier League meetings with City (D3 L16), losing the last 14 in a row. Their last victory was in April 2009 at the Etihad Stadium under Roy Hodgson.
City have won each of their last 17 meetings with Fulham in all competitions, the longest winning run one English league side has had against another in history.
