Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar has dubbed the team’s current bowling unit as the best. RCB have made it to the IPL 2025 playoffs and are currently placed second on the points table. They will take on SRH on Friday in Lucknow in a bid to go to the top of the table.
Patidar claims RCB has best bowling unit in 2025
Speaking on JioHotstar, Patidar claimed that RCB was very well prepared, in terms of bowling, this year and that they had picked players with precision. Incidentally, RCB under Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis were subjected to criticism over weak bowling line-ups. Patidar backed the current RCB bowling unit to lead them to their maiden IPL trophy.
“In T20 games, having good, experienced bowlers who understand how to bowl in specific situations helps a lot. Your bowling group can win you matches — and even the title. I think this year, we prepared well and picked players based on what we needed in specific areas. It’s worked out well, and I believe this has been our best bowling unit so far,” Patidar said.
RCB’s best bowler in this season has been Josh Hazlewood. The Australian pacer has 18 wickets to his name from 10 matches. Krunal Pandya has 14 wickets from 11 matches. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yash Dayal have been exceptional in their execution despite not bagging many wickets. Suyash Sharma has turned out to be a wildcard for RCB in IPL 2025.
RCB will play both their remaining league stage games in Lucknow. So far, they have won 6 out of 6 away games. The game against SRH on Friday was supposed to be played in Bengaluru but was shifted to Lucknow due to rain forecast in the Karnataka capital.
