ALAMEDA COUNTY – A grass fire that has burned more than 200 acres between Tracy and Livermore has shut down Interstate 580 on Thursday afternoon.
The Midway Fire broke out shortly before 3 p.m. near Patterson Pass Road and Midway Road in Alameda County, according to Cal Fire.
Cal Fire's website says the fire has burned 262 acres. Crews have reported that the fire is burning at a moderate rate of spread and no containment.
I-580 is closed from Corral Hollow to the intersection of Interstate 205.
The City of Tracy said there is "a major vehicle incident" on I-580.
No evacuations have been issued at this time.
