PATRICK Mahomes sent a simple message over a shocking occurrence during the Kansas City Chiefs’ offseason.
The three-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback reacted to a moment that the whole world just couldn’t believe after sending prayers to a 31-year-old athlete who died.
Mahomes, like most NFL athletes, follows the NBA closely.
The 29-year-old is a well-noted Dallas Mavericks fan, but he’s also paid attention to the NBA playoffs despite his favorite team not being in the dance.
And Mahomes reacted to the wild finish during the Indiana Pacers’ 138-135 overtime road victory in overtime against the New York Knicks.
The Pacers were down by 17 at one point in the fourth quarter, but made it a two-point deficit with one last possession to go.
Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton thought he drained a game-winning three and turned to the crowd and mimicked Reggie Miller, showing his iconic choke sign.
However, it wasn’t a three and was simply a two, which forced the game to overtime.
That moment caught the eye of Mahomes, who chimed in on X.
He said, “Bro stop…. [multiple laughing emojis].”
Haliburton’s move channeled the gesture Miller made during Game 5 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals.
The Pacers would go on to claim the shocking victory at Madison Square Garden.
Mahomes’ message came after he posted a tribute to the heartbreaking death of a sports star.
The Major League Soccer team, Sporting Kansas City, announced Tuesday that the 31-year-old Gadi Kinda had died.
He was a midfielder for the team from 2020 to 2023.
Kinda was a native of Ethiopia but represented the Israeli national team.
He joined Sporting Kansas City after leaving Beitar Jerusalem in his native country.
