To win five games out of 6, and top the IPL 2025 points table at one stage, DC should have made it to the playoffs with utmost ease. But instead, the team went on to lose five more matches after that, while one was washed out. And naturally, Axar Patel’s team was kicked out of the tournament.
DC Knocked Out of IPL 2025
The bowling looked poor, while there were issues with the batting too. Then, they had a chance to still make it, had they beaten MI on Wednesday, but then they leaked 21 runs in the final over of the innings, as the opposition went on to score 180. From there on, they were always out of the chase.

This IPL 2025 season would really hurt the team, the fans and the owners as well. In fact, Parth Jinal went on to tweet about how he felt, after his team failed to live up to the expectations. He wrote, “Sorry to all Delhi Capitals fans – like you i too am reeling from the second half of the season. What started so well ended extremely poorly. There are positives to take from this campaign but for now all focus on the next game which we need to win. Post the season there will need to be a lot of introspection on a lot of aspects.”
Going by what the team owner wrote, there could be some vital decisions taken, as far as the team structure is concerned. Maybe some players could be fired, or maybe someone in the support staff. There were a lot of expectations from DC at the beginning of the year, that they could go on to win their first-ever IPL title. But that was not to be. DC play their last league match vs PBKS on May 24 now.
