Bet of the Day – Tottenham vs Manchester United over 2.5 goals @ 1/1

There is so much on the line in the Europa League final as both of these teams have otherwise endured woeful seasons. The winner gets a trophy and a place at Europe’s top table, the Champions League, next season and the loser comes away with nothing.

That could result in a cagey game, but one goal could potentially open the floodgates and considering how leaky both of these defences have been it wouldn’t register as a shock to see an early opener.

This will be the fourth meeting between these sides this season and the three games so far have averaged 3.7 goals per-game.

Each of United’s last five European games have seen at least three goals scored, while four of Spurs’ last seven games against Premier League teams have gone over 2.5 goals, so there is a good chance these teams can combine for at least three goals.  

Special of the Day – Forest Green Rovers to win, over 3.5 goals & both teams to score @ 8/1 (Boosted from 27/4) 

Home advantage gives Forest Green Rovers a clear edge in this National League play-off tie as the New Lawn was a bit of a fortress for the Green this season.

Rovers only lost once at home in the league and that was a defeat to Gateshead towards the end of the season, when they looked assured of finishing either second or third but first was out of reach.

Both of the league meetings between these sides finished 2-2 so over 3.5 goals and both teams to score should be added to this special.

Southend needed late equalisers in both draws to take a point, but a share of the spoils is no good for either side here so we may get a winner within the 90 minutes, with Forest Green more likely to do that in what could be a high-scoring and entertaining affair.

Longshot of the Day – Metz to win and both teams to score vs Reims @ 15/4

Metz are bidding to win promotion back into Ligue 1 at the first attempt and they can make home advantage count against Reims in the first leg of this tie.

Metz have won six of their last nine home games and they lost just once at this venue in Ligue 2 all season.

Reims are in terrible form as they managed just one point from their final four games to finish up in the relegation play-off place in Ligue 1.

The visitors are used to playing a higher standard of opposition on a regular basis, however, and they can give themselves a platform to build on for the home second leg with a goal in defeat against a Metz outfit who have just one clean sheet in their last seven at home.
