DENVER (KDVR) — A reward has increased to $12,000 for information on a February double-homicide and arson investigation in Thornton.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, at around 11:15 p.m., 58-year-old Kendra Anderson and 55-year-old Chad Anderson were found dead inside their home in the 16300 block of Columbine Street. The neighborhood is between East 160th Avenue and York Street.
Both victims had died from apparent gunshot wounds, according to Thornton police.
The Anderson's Thornton home also caught fire, and investigators determined it had been intentionally set in order to conceal the crime. Their two dogs reportedly died in the fire.
The case is now being investigated as a double homicide and arson.

“This was a devastating and calculated crime that shattered a family,” said Chief Greg Reeves, interim chief of the Thornton Police Department. “We believe someone in the community holds crucial information that could help solve this case, and we urge them to come forward by contacting Metro Denver Crime Stoppers today.”
The Anderson family released a statement in the hopes of bringing justice to their loved ones.
“It is nearly impossible to put into words the emptiness and devastation we feel after the senseless murder of Chad and Kendra. This tragedy has left our family shattered and incomplete. Chad and Kendra were loving, devoted parents. They were amazing people who cherished their sons, their family, and their dogs more than anything. While nothing can ever bring them back, we are pleading with anyone who has information to please come forward. Our family is desperate for answers and clarity. Chad and Kendra deserve justice," said the Anderson family in a press release.
