LOS ANGELES — Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno forced Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Landon Knack to throw an innings-worth of pitches in one plate appearance, tying a franchise record in the process.
Moreno fouled off 10 pitches to work a 16-pitch at-bat, tied for the longest in D-backs history by pitches thrown.
Following a two-run homer in his previous turn, Moreno ultimately lined out to right to end his marathon at the plate.

Moreno on Monday battled for the longest plate appearance of the season in Major League Baseball, besting 14, which had been done three times, according to Stathead.
In his follow-up, Moreno earned another 3-2 count but grounded out to shortstop.
