SEC announces individual awards for 2025 baseball season

The 2025 college baseball regular season is in the books.

The SEC announced individual awards for the 2025 campaign on Monday afternoon just ahead of the start of the SEC Tournament.

Arkansas star Wehiwa Aloy took home the top prize as he was named SEC Player of the Year. Aloy was one of the best hitters in the country this season as he slashed .358/.440/.667 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI across 55 games. Perhaps most importantly, Aloy led the Hogs to a 20-10 record in SEC play — good enough for second place in the league standings.

Tennessee ace Liam Doyle was named SEC Pitcher of the Year. He’s established himself as a top MLB Draft prospect after posting an ERA of just 2.72 during the regular season. He also struck out 137 batters in just 79.1 innings of work. Doyle will be crucial to the Vols’ chances of repeating as national champs.

Both Aloy and Doyle were previously named semifinalists for the Golden Spikes Award. The winner will be announced on June 21.

Texas, who won the SEC regular-season title with a record of 22-8, took home the final individual awards. Dylan Volantis won SEC Freshman of the Year and was one of the best relievers in the country in 2025. He had an ERA of just 1.66 across 43.1 innings while also accumulating 12 saves.

Texas coach Jim Schlossnagle also won SEC Coach of the Year honors during his first year on the job in Austin. After arriving from Texas A&M last year, Schlossnagle has Texas in position to potentially compete for the College World Series title in 2025.
